Hunter - Moldfang | Outriders Wiki

Hunter - Moldfang is a Hunter Quest in Outriders. This type of quest focuses on completing hunting down various alien creatures that pose a threat to human civilization. During your exploration, you will come across carcasses of alien creatures that are scattered around certain sections of a location. When you see one, inspect it and you will be able to unlock that quest. Wanted Quests are important just as important as any other Quests since they can provide you with rewards such as EXP and loot.

Hunter - Moldfang Walkthrough

• Unlock Hunter - Moldfang by rescuing Zahedi during the "Judgment" Main Quest.
• Fast travel to the Deserter's Stronghold and proceed to the Whitewater Resevoir. Locate and interact with the carcass to begin the hunt.
• Enter the Hunter - Moldfang area, and clear the area of Perforos and Venomous Perforos. The Crawler will appear on top of a small cliff on the left hand side.
• Stay near terrain structures, evade the Crawler's Obliterating Beam or Frontal Sweep, and continuously shoot its head from a distance for maximum damage. This should lead to the Crawler's quick defeat.
• Loot the remains. Advance ahead by following the marker to enter the Moldfang's Nest. 
• Run straight towards the end, where the Moldfang is residing on top of a tall rock. Continuously shoot the Moldfang while kiting from a distance to avoid its melee slash attack. Dodge the Moldfang's Surge and Ground Spike when fighting at range. 
• Loot the remains. Fast travel to Trench Town, deliver the trophy to Noah at the Saloon, and select your choice of gear from the rewards.

Hunter - Moldfang Notes & Tips

• Against the Crawler: Whenever you notice the Crawler charging up its Obliterating Beam or preparing its Frontal Sweep attack, quickly dodge behind the nearest structure(if possible), as they can be negated by line of sight. Do not move out of the structure until the meter on top of the Crawler's HP has fully depleted, as the remaining beam can still damage you if you are exposed.
• Against the Moldfang: While fighting at from a distance, the Moldfang will resort to attacking with Surge and Ground Spike. Evade these attacks by dodging sideways, and damage the Moldfang from a distance to prevail
