Tempest is a Main Quest in Outriders. This quest tasks players to survive the ambush. Main Quests focuses on the main campaign of the game, players are required to complete these in order to advance the game's plot and to unlock new and more features such as Locations, NPCs, Weapons, Armor, Enemies, Bosses, more Side Quests, and more.

Tempest Walkthrough
- This quest automatically starts after speaking to Tanner and Olivia at the end of the Arrival quest.
- You'll find yourself in a jungle-like area. Proceed further and find the second probe.
- This quest still serves as a tutorial on the combat mechanics of the game. At this point, you'll encounter your first enemy, an Alien Creature.
- Learn how to dodge roll and use your weapons to defeat the creature. Once you've killed it, continue further and reach the probe.
- Climb the ledge and a cutscene will trigger. A series of events will then trigger where the anomaly storm hits. You now need to avoid the anomaly that appears around the area and sprint back to the camp.
- Upon arriving back at the camp, you'll see that an ECA Sergeant Major, named Maxwell, has turned against you and has ambushed your crew.
- You need to fight through Maxwell's men and pursue him. Make sure to lot the chest in the first section of the camp to find Tanner's Backup Rifle.
- From here, all you have to do is fight your way through Maxwell's guard and confront him. Once you've defeated him another cutscene will trigger and this completes the quest.
