The Scientific Method is a Side Quest in Outriders. This quest tasks players to investigate another Altered's laboratory in the mountains. A side quest focuses on adding and unlocking more details to the lore of the game, allowing you to better understand the environment of the game, as well as the various supporting elements in it. Side Quests are important as well since they can provide you with rewards such as EXP and loot.
When you asked Zahedi for an explanation for the Altered's powers, he pointed you to the Alchemist, known for conducting inhumane experiments in his research of the Altered. Anything you can learn about your powers, about what you are, must be worth investigating. The Alchemist's laboratory is rumored to be nestled somewhere in Eagle Peaks.

The Scientific Method Walkthrough
- This quest can be activated after reaching the Antenna Cable Car Station during the Frequency Main Quest by speaking with Dr. Zahedi at the Camp in Eagle Peaks. Choose "Can anyone explain my Altered Powers?" to trigger the quest. Dr. Zahedi will ask you to investigate another Altered known as the Alchemist who has a lab in the mountains.
- Travel to the Snow Plateau within Eagle Peaks to begin the investigation. There will be a set of doors that will lead to the secret bunker. Progress through and clear any enemies in your path. Eventually, you will come across an Area Objective indicated by the blue gear icon. Retrieve the journal on the floor and proceed through the next set of doors.
- The next area will contain a small horde of Perforos. Clear them and retrieve the next journal. After collecting the journal, inspect the charred corpse. This will initiate a cutscene.
- Return your findings to Dr. Zahedi to complete the quest and select a reward.
