Cooperative Play for Outriders is a mechanic of the game. Outriders is a 1-3 player co-op RPG shooter set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe. Cooperative Play is a feature that allows players to invite other people or their friends to play online which will appeal to those who would like to socialize and experiment with different group tactics and mechanics.

Co-Op in Outriders
Before you start the game and choose to play via Multiplayer, you must choose your Class. From there, you can start the game via Single-Player or Multiplayer. At any time, you can switch between the two, and if you are playing co-op mode, you can invite two more players to form a team of three members.
Just take note that when you are playing in co-op, the difficulty gets higher, but at the same time, the loot you acquire is better.
Co-Op Quests and Progress
Both the main storyline and side activities can be played in co-op.
If you join a party that has progressed further than you in the main storyline, you will be warned about encountering potential spoilers, but you will be free to join anyways if you want to. When you play ahead of your own progress, the checkpoints you complete will be unlocked in your Timeline, and the ones you have not will remain locked.
When a member of the party decides to leave an area, there is a vote taken among the party. At least two members of the party must agree to travel, or travel will be canceled. To vote, follow the prompts on the screen. Voting 'yes' can also be done in the world by entering a circle to the entrance to the next area.
When joining a party, you will automatically start tracking the party leader's quest, but it can be switched to any of your own active quests.
Crossplay Enabled
In the Outriders Demo that is scheduled to release on February 25, 2021, the demo supports a crossplay experience in its beta feature, meaning the game allows you to play with your friends and matchmake with other players who are playing the demo on a different platform. By default, when you start the demo, the crossplay function will be toggled off, so if you want to enable crossplay, head over to the Options > Gameplay > and toggle on "Enable Crossplay". You can play with other players who are on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Series X.
