Online for Outriders is a core feature for Cooperative Play. The Outriders features an online mode that allows players to invite two more other players to form a party of three. On this page, you'll find information on how to use the online feature and guidelines for those who wish to play online with other players.

Outriders Online Information

Crossplay Feature

In the Outriders Demo that is scheduled to release on February 25, 2021, the demo supports a crossplay experience in its beta feature, meaning the game allows you to play with your friends and matchmake with other players who are playing the demo on a different platform.

By default, when you start the demo, the crossplay function will be toggled off, so if you want to enable crossplay, head over to the Options > Gameplay > and toggle on "Enable Crossplay". You can play with other players who are on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Series X. Players can expect that this feature will still be available in the full game.

Online on Consoles

Players are required to be subscribed to PS Plus for those playing on the PS4 or PS5, while Xbox Live Gold is required for those playing on the Xbox One or Series X/S.

Inviting Players

At any given time, you can switch between single-player and co-op mode for up to 3 players. There are three ways for you to invite other players or to join other sessions:

  • Co-Op with Friends: You can invite your friends from the lobby or from the game menu. Alternatively, your friends can also join without an invitation, that is if you set the privacy to Friends Only or Open.
  • Matchmaking: If you want to join a random session, head over to the Matchmaking Terminal at the camp to find a party that is currently Open. On the other hand, if you want other players to join your session, just set your privacy to Open and the system will deal with it. Just take note that at some parts, if a session you are about to hop in has progressed the story more than you do, you'll be given a warning that there may be spoilers ahead and it's up to you to decide if you still want to proceed.
  • Quest Timeline: In the Lobby, Quest Timeline lets you set the story to any unlocked story points (past or future). Your Hero Level and Equipment will not change, only the story point.
