Inferno Walkthrough

  • This quest becomes available after rescuing Dr. Abraham Zahedi in the First City and upon asking Jakub Dabrowski to leave for Eagle Peaks. When you arrive, speak to the ECA Captain stationed here, which is Jocelyn Dunham, and ask her how to get to the radio tower.
  • After the cutscene, leave the campsite and head towards the path leading to the mountains. Your task is to investigate the volcano's peak. Work your way through the path and you'll first come across a fast-travel point, capture it to unlock it. Continue towards the objective and clear out the nest. As you enter the first Nest, go left to find the chest on the edge.
  • Once you've cleared the first nest, clear the rocks and proceed to the next section of the nest where you'll encounter a new type of enemy, the Screechers. Make sure to avoid the blue and red zones and shoot them down when they are idle. Clear the area again and proceed to the innermost section of the nest and clear the rocks - as you enter the second Nest, go left to find the chest behind the rock in the middle.
  • Capture the point to unlock the fast travel of the Volcano Peak and continue further and repel the spiderlings. Kill all of the spiders and clear the rocks ahead that lead to the Acari's Nest. Make sure you are prepared and are full in ammo since you'll be entering a boss battle.

Boss Battle: Molten Acari

  • The nest of the Acari is pretty open and wide, leaving you vulnerable to most of its attacks. So you'll want to keep a safe distance and use either an Assault Rifle or Sniper weapon to fight it. Now, in this battle, it is divided into three phases.
  • For the first phase, you'll be fighting this boss in its default form, which is a huge spider. Shoot its abdomen to inflict extra damage and avoid the blue zones. It either tries to jump on top of you to get close, it will try to jump where it is standing, call forth a line of lava or shoot it at you.
  • When it rushes and climbs on a wall, be ready to dodge and sprint a lot because it will start to shoot out multiple lava. Do not try to shoot it when it does this and focus on avoiding the lava.
  • The second phase starts when you empty out the first bar of its health. You'll still be fighting the Acari in its spider form and it still uses the same mechanics, the only thing is, it will summon Spiderlings just to keep you busy. These spiderlings are quite fast so using an Assault Rifle against them is best to get rid of it easily.
  • Phase three begins when it only has one bar of health left. The Acari then enters its true form which is a giant centipede-like being. You'll notice that there are these orange glowing lumps around its body Shoot it and make sure you are moving to avoid the flow of lava it releases.
  • After defeating the Acari, return back to the ECA camp and report back to Captain Dunham. Speak to her and collect your reward from the choices it gives you - this completes the quest.
